Healthy Food, Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

In this UNIT: Mind and Body Connectedness

In this unit, students learn new skills that connect social and emotional learning and the practice of healthy eating; lessons will ask students to identify their feelings and emotions, reflect on how a particular food makes them feel and why (i.e. calm, energized), how they feel when hungry vs. full, and how a healthy diet influences how they feel.

Opportunities for applied learning include the Read Your Body Activity and the Mood and Food Game.  These resources allow students to practice self-awareness, identify their bodily sensations as they consider how certain foods make them feel, and consider whether those feelings are related to their minds or their bodies.
